2026 Michigan State Senate

Michigan elects all 38 senators in the same year it elects a governor. Democrats enter with 20 Senate seats to Republicans’ 18. A one-seat Republican gain would put the chamber at 19 apiece and give particular importance to the lieutenant governor’s tie-breaking vote.
